There are many websites that offer flight comparisons, and you can use these to find the lowest price for your trip. You may also want to consider using a travel agent if you’re planning on taking more than one trip per year or don’t have time to do all of this research yourself!

They also have a price comparison feature that lets you see which airlines offer the cheapest tickets from your city of origin. This way it’s easy to find out who has the best deal before booking!
2. Purchase your airline tickets as far in advance as possible
Buying your tickets early means you’ll have more time to research the best deals and find out which airlines offer discounts for booking ahead of time. It also gives them an opportunity to match or beat any lower price that comes up later on (something they’re not legally obligated do). I often save up to 50% on my tickets by booking at least two months in advance!
Airlines often offer sales around certain holidays, so be sure to keep an eye out for these. You can also sign up for email alerts from your favorite airlines or travel websites so you don’t miss any good deals!
The downside of purchasing tickets early is that if your plans change, you may be stuck with a non-refundable ticket. However, most airlines now offer the option to change your ticket for a fee, so be sure to check their policies before you book.
3. Fly on off-peak days (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays)
If you can fly during the week instead of on the weekend, you’ll often find cheaper tickets. This is because most people prefer to travel during the weekend, so airlines offer more discounts for flights during the week.
Another way to save money is to fly into or out of a smaller airport. These airports usually have lower landing fees and taxes, which can add up to a significant savings. However, keep in mind that the drive to and from these airports can be longer, so it’s important to factor this into your travel plans.
You may also want to consider flying with a budget airline. These airlines often have cheaper tickets and fees than the major carriers. For me the best budget airlines are Ryanair, Southwest Airlines, and AirAsia.
Flying on a budget airline may mean that your flight doesn’t provide meals or entertainment (like movies) but most people will agree the savings are worth it!
4. Pack light to avoid paying for extra luggage fees
Airlines typically charge a fee for checking bags on flights. This can add up to hundreds of dollars if you’re traveling with more than one person. The best way around this is simply not taking so many bags!
You may want to consider packing everything into carry-on luggage instead of checking your suitcases at the gate or ticket counter. This way you’ll avoid any extra fees and you won’t have to wait for your luggage when you reach your destination.
The rule of thumb is to pack only what you need, and leave everything else at home. You can buy most necessities when you arrive or borrow them from a friend who lives near your destination!
If you’re not able to pack everything into a carry-on, be sure to check the airline’s baggage policy before packing. Most airlines allow one checked bag per person at no charge, but anything more than that will cost extra money.
5. Use a travel rewards credit card to earn points or miles for future vacations
If you’re planning on taking more than one vacation in the next year or two, it may be worth signing up for a travel rewards credit card. These cards offer points or miles for every dollar you spend, which can be redeemed for free airline tickets or hotel stays.
Some of my favorite travel rewards cards include the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, the American Express Platinum Card, and the Citi Hilton Honors Visa Signature Card.
Be sure to do your research before signing up for any credit card, as some cards have higher annual fees or interest rates than others. Also, make sure you’re able to pay off your balance in full each month so you don’t end up paying more than you’re saving!
